CONTEXT
“Staten Island-Based Kitchen” was founded in 2023 to provide catering services at festivals and local events within the Staten Island (and surrounding) neighborhoods. Staten Island-Based Kitchen provides high-end quality Carribean/Soul-Food, with some of her specialists such as the “Soon-to-be-Famous Oxtails.”
After attending an event that was produced by Jones Strategy and Consulting Group, LLC, they reached out for help with their website. Eventually, Jones Strategy and Consulting Group became their consultant. The business would like to, eventually, open a brick-and-motor restaurant.
METHOD
We worked with Staten Island-Based Kitchen to successfully:
Develop a website, providing an online ordering system;
Upgraded POS system to better track sales and metrics;
Piloted 2 launch dates to understand customer trends and demands;
Developed a strategy to raise $ 50,500 to open and operate.
OUTCOME
Staten Island-Based Kitchen successfully launched its online presence with a website that attracted 246 visitors in its first two months, with 35% of those visitors finding the site through direct Google search. To streamline operations and enhance customer experience, a new POS system was implemented, replacing the previous reliance on digital payment apps. Two successful pilot launches generated over 25 orders and $450 in revenue, providing valuable insights into customer preferences and market demand. Additionally, a strategic fundraising plan was developed to secure $50,500 in funding for the establishment of a brick-and-mortar restaurant. By addressing operational challenges and leveraging digital marketing, Staten Island-Based Kitchen is well-positioned to expand its customer base and achieve its long-term goal of opening a physical restaurant.
