CONTEXT
The Youth Sexpert Program is a semester long, virtual training program for high school enrolled youth ages 14-18. Weekly zoom sessions range in topics discussing anatomy, consent, and STI stigmatization. The program is and radically honest, as opposed to fear driven, providing a safe, non-judgemental space for students to learn and ask questions regarding sexual orientation.
The program primarily launched as a social media based initiative, providing sex education through static images, reels, and short videos. The Youth Sexpert program wanted to provide more education and knowledge for students. The Youth Sexpert Program came up with the idea to create support and focus groups that provided education to a group of 8 – 12 students. The Youth Sexpert Program faced two obstacles that prevented them from piloting their program: finances and outreach.
METHOD
Working closely with The Youth Sexpert Program, Jones Strategy and Consulting Group was able to:
Analyze their current outreach processes and procedures;
Collect data on neighborhoods and regions to target, developing ideal targets for their clients;
Analyze data and research to generate several ideas for a fundraising event;
Develop outreach scripts and templates for sponsorships and partnerships;
Develop a 3-month outreach strategy to identify key students for their pilot group.
OUTCOMES
The Youth Sexpert Program recruited 9 students for their pilot focus group, and generated over $5,000 in donations and supplies for their inaugural fundraising event. 100% of the students who participated in the pilot group attended a majority of sessions for the entirety of the semester.
